Meet Your Teacher
Music making is an evolving art form that gives voice to individuals and expresses our personal narratives, cultures, histories, and current events. What I believe about teaching and learning has evolved over the past 29 years. As I enter my 30th year of teaching, I am examining my teaching practices; recreating the “how” and “what” I teach. This year offers us time to create new ways to connect with one another, examine our own identities, and create expressive music.
I believe all of us have music inside of us and the desire to create and express ourselves artistically.
I look forward to creating music in many styles and teaching students to seek knowledge found in the music of our histories, our cultures, and our current times. Music reflects the past, documents our now, and guides future. Our creative students today are the authors of our future.
2020-2021 is Ms. Linne’s third year at Anthony Middle School. She has taught high school, middle school, and beginning band. Ms. Linne has taught school band in Arizona, Michigan, and Minnesota. In addition to teaching school band, she has taught in a variety of summer music camps and private music schools including Interlochen Center for the Arts, South Tucson Area School for Performing Arts, Michigan State Community Music School, and the Hastings Arts Center. Ms. Linne has a private lesson studio for brass students, many of whom have gone on to the All State Band programs and received scholarships for college. She also teaches at the Musikschule im Steinhaus in Besigheim, Germany and the Grundschule in Wahlheim, Germany, and collaborates with the Kreisjugend-Orchester from Ludwigsburg, Germany in arranging their U.S.A. tours.
